Rest Is The Way
A 31-Day Christian Devotional for Faith-Led Health and Sacred Stewardship
What if your health breakthrough doesn't start with a new diet or a stricter routine — but with rest? Rest Is The Way is a 31-day devotional that guides you, one day at a time, into a new rhythm of honoring the body God gave you — through scripture, reflection, and faith-led habits that actually stick.
More than a devotional. A new way of living.
Rest Is The Way is written for the woman who has tried everything — the cleanses, the challenges, the routines — and still feels depleted. It's for the woman who has been told to hustle harder, push through, and sleep when she's dead.
This book gently challenges that narrative. Over 31 days, Malica guides you through scripture-rooted reflections and practical prompts that help you:
- Release the guilt that keeps you from resting
- Reconnect with your body as a sacred gift, not a burden
- Build small, sustainable habits that honor your health and your faith
- Experience rest as an act of worship — not weakness
Written in Malica's warm, honest voice, each day takes less than 15 minutes — but the shifts it creates can last a lifetime.

This book was written for you if…
You're spiritually hungry
You want your faith to be part of your health journey — not separate from it.
You're running on empty
You've been going at full speed for too long and your body is asking you — quietly or loudly — to slow down.
You're ready for something different
You've tried the programs, the challenges, the meal plans. You're ready for an approach rooted in grace, not guilt.

A glimpse inside the book
Every day in Rest Is The Way begins with scripture, moves into honest reflection, and ends with a practical step you can take right now. Here's a taste of what's waiting for you inside.
Day 7 · God Rested
Genesis 2:2-3
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
Scripture Reflection
Before there was striving, there was rest.
Genesis tells us that God rested not because creation exhausted Him, but because His work was complete. Rest was not an afterthought; it was the culmination. God did not bless the work; He blessed the day of rest.
For many women, rest has been treated as optional, irresponsible, or something to "get to later." We have learned to measure our worth by how much we produce, carry, and endure. But Sabbath challenges that narrative. It reminds us that rest is not the absence of faithfulness, it is an expression of it.
When you rest, you are not stopping God's work. You trust it. You are declaring that your life is upheld by God, not by constant effort. Holy rest interrupts the lie that everything depends on you and restores the truth that everything ultimately belongs to God.
Reflection Question
What would change in my body, my mind, and my faith if I truly believed that rest is holy, not lazy, and already blessed by God?
Today's Practice
Schedule one intentional 5-minute rest today. It may be 5 minutes of stillness, a walk without your phone, or lying down without guilt. Let that be enough today.
What readers are saying
"One of the most beautiful rest practices I've ever experienced — and I've been doing yoga nidra for twenty years."
"God may be softening how I respond around food and health. Choosing curiosity over judgment feels like one way He's helping me break generational patterns. Thank you for holding space."
"It helped me focus on my health journey and the why...showing me that even handing that part of my life over to God will help me make better choices."
